I finally just caved and watched the episode.
HE LOOKS AT HER LONGINGLY AND HOLDS HER HAND
I really like this ship. I mean, what other person, other than Bolin, can genuinely make Mako smile? They seem to bring out the best in each other, and they’re instantly comfortable.
Also, like Zutara, they have a history which they can relate to, except that Masami actually acknowledges it.
I love this ship. I really, really hope it isn’t a one episode thing. (Oh, wait, it’s not. The episode ends, and they’re still dating, lololol.)
Wait I’m confused. How are their histories similar? She’s the daughter of Hiroshi Sato. His parents have been gone since he was eight and he’s had to fend for himself/Bolin.
Korra and Mako are rendered powerless against two mysterious, chi-blocking warriors.

The scent of winter carried on the clean mountain air as Katara sat next to Aang in the living room. Frail hands intertwined like they had been so many times before. Their wedding day, the day Kya was born, the first time Tenzin flew around the island by himself. Something to hold onto. Something steady and warm to comfort each other.
The only sound was that of the leaves rustling sadly on the trees. The whole island was covered with a blanket or peace as it had been for the past week.
They didn’t speak to each other. They felt that all the words they needed had already been said, or could be expressed through gestures such as a caress of the face or a lock of the eyes.
Slowly, Katara heard Aang’s breath begin to slow. His eyes fluttered shut, but he kept a firm grip on her hand. She sat there, watching sadly as he drew his final breathe. His hand slackened in hers. Her eyes began to tear up so rapidly that she couldn’t see his peaceful face any more. She leant over and kissed his cheek tenderly, like she had done when they were young, and whispered
“Good bye, Sweetie”
